1. These terms
These terms apply to your use of techimpact.ca, operated by Tech Impact Inc. (“Tech Impact”, “we”, “us”). By using the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
2. What this site is
This site describes what we do and gives you a way to request a free AI assessment. It is information and an invitation to get in touch. Nothing on it is an offer capable of acceptance, and nothing on it forms a contract between us.
3. The free assessment
The assessment is free and carries no obligation, exactly as the site says: a conversation and a written opportunity map. Requesting one does not make you a client, does not create a professional relationship and does not commit either of us to any work. Either side may decide not to proceed, for any reason, without cost to the other.
4. Paid work is governed separately
If we go on to do work together, that work is governed by a separate written agreement covering scope, price, timelines and responsibilities. These website terms do not govern it. Where anything here conflicts with a signed agreement between us, the signed agreement governs.
5. No professional advice, and no promised outcomes
The content here is general information about the kind of work we do. It is not legal, financial, tax or professional advice, and you should not act on it as though it were advice about your particular situation.
The examples on this site — including the list of manual operations — are illustrative and clearly labelled as such. They describe patterns we commonly find, not findings about your business. Nothing on this site is a guarantee of any particular result, saving or return.
6. Acceptable use
Please use the site as intended. Do not:
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site or its systems, or probe, scan or test its security
- use the assessment form to send unlawful, misleading, abusive or unsolicited commercial content
- submit another person's information as though it were your own
- interfere with the site's normal operation, including by automated or high-volume requests
7. Accuracy and availability
We try to keep this site accurate and current, but we may change or remove any part of it at any time without notice. We do not promise the site will always be available or free of errors.
8. Intellectual property
The text, design, layout, logo and the Tech Impact name and mark on this site belong to Tech Impact Inc. You may read, print and share pages for your own reference. You may not copy our branding or present our material as your own.
The typefaces used here — Big Shoulders, Archivo and Courier Prime — are third-party works used under the SIL Open Font License, and remain the property of their respective authors.
9. Third-party services
This site relies on two third parties: Vercel for hosting and Web3Forms for delivering the assessment form. Their own terms and privacy practices govern what they do with the requests they handle. How we treat your information is set out in our privacy notice.
10. Disclaimer
To the fullest extent permitted by law, this site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tech Impact Inc. is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any loss of profit, revenue, data or business, arising from your use of this site. Our total liability arising out of or relating to this site and these terms is limited to one hundred Canadian dollars (CAD $100).
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
13. Changes to these terms
If these terms change we will update the effective date and advance the revision letter at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
